Phnom Penh, December 10, 2016: The Cambodian Country Club here turned into a sea of orange today as leading telco Cellcard showed their appreciation to staff and families with its annual Family Day gathering.
Clad in their official Cellcard orange outfits or dressed in their best, an estimated 1,000 people attended the event, which was punctuated with lots of smiles and laughter. Family Day was held to strengthen existing ties, allow new staff and old to mingle and most of all, provide a platform for employees to have maximum fun and take a break from their duties.
The event’s itinerary included a Cellcard Got Talent competition, a soccer tournament and numerous other activities geared towards wholesome family fun. Family Day, which kicked off at 9am and continued until 4.30pm, also witnessed the telco’s top management joining in the festivities and letting their hair down.
Cellcard CEO Ian Watson said the event was among the initiatives initiated by Cellcard to ensure staff enjoyed a healthy work-life balance.
“We continuously find new ways to bring our staff together to not only appreciate their commitment and contribution to the company, but to also give them the opportunity to exchange ideas and further strengthen their leadership, accountability and teamwork skills,” he said at the event. “Our Family Day is one such avenue to accomplish these aims, but most of all, it’s a great chance for us to get together, have lots of fun and return to work refreshed and recharged.”
