Kongngy Hav, founder of the social enterprise My Dream Home, has been shortlisted among 400 enterprises by the Sankalp Awards 2016 to pitch his business to judges in Mumbai, India on April 21st.
Ten high potential impact enterprises will pitch for the Sankalp Awards 2016 and the 50K grant. Selected from over 400 enterprises, these companies represent the best from sectors like healthcare, education, water, sanitation, agriculture, financial inclusion, skill development, livelihoods and clean energy.
My Dream Home is a Cambodian social enterprise providing affordable housing by producing eco-friendly interlocking bricks and keeping down prices for low-income families, such as garment workers. Supported and mentored by Impact Hub Phnom Penh, Kongngy’s fellowship has given his start up huge leverage and access to a global community of entrepreneurs.
The Hub Fellowship is a 6-month fellowship program aimed at providing support to selected entrepreneurs who have displayed exceptional ideas and commitment to developing start-ups that aim to have a positive impact on the community. Impact Hub provides fellows with access to personal mentoring, connection to an extensive network of contacts and free use of the Hub co-working space whilst they get their idea off the ground. Cellcard proudly sponsors programmes at Impact Hub and Niek Van Veen, Director of Marketing at Cellcard, was one of Kongngy’s mentors.

Kongny Hav’s quote
“I dream that one day in Cambodia, everyone could have access to a decent housing for a better quality of life.”
Together we can build decent homes for the people in need! I hope this achievement will inspire the young generation to start their own social businesses.
