Phnom Penh, Cambodia [28th August 2024] – CAMGSM PLC (Cellcard), Cambodia’s leading mobile and broadband operator, has recently announced its financial results for the second quarter of 2024 alongside exciting new developments for its customers.
Despite industry challenges, Cellcard demonstrated remarkable resilience and strategic adaptability. The company expanded its portfolio with a comprehensive home internet offer, achieved a notable increase in total assets (11%), and maintained a strong financial position (8% increase in shareholder equity).
While total Revenue decreased by 4% (7,343 million Riels) compared to Q2-2023 impacted by the decrease in provision of telecom services by 6,394 million Riels or 4%, operating profit remained stable (0.32% or 152 million Riels decrease compared to Q2-2023 mainly due to a decrease in Revenue offset with decrease in other operating costs.). Profit for the period decreased by 46% (15,368 million Riels) primarily due to lower interest income in Q2 2024.
