Cellcard and the Football Federation of Cambodia (FFC) today celebrate the major success of their joint football academy programme “The School of Football Talent”.
The closing ceremony is being held today (March 31) from 1pm – 4pm at Sen Kla Kon High School in Banteay Meanchey province.
More than 3,000 students and supporters are expected to attend along with Cellcard and representatives of the Ministry of Sports and Education – all keen to see the final two teams from Kandal and Kampong Chnang battle it out for the grand prize.
His Excellency General Sao Sokha will be leading the closing ceremony.
Cellcard has been key to driving the momentum of the programme for the past two years supporting the matches set-up, providing sports kit and prizes, and staging the entertainment events for students to enjoy.
The partnership between FFC and Cellcard was signed in May 2017 with the aim of promoting the sport, providing training, engaging local communities, and keeping young people free of negative influences such as drugs, alcohol and crime.
Cellcard has used the programme to add to their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives by donating to orphanages and schools in the provinces they travel to for the matches.
The School of Football Talent has achieved nation-wide coverage engaging more than 2,000 players in the 25 teams of under 15s and 26 teams of Under 17s.
After the final match and awarding ceremony, Cellcard will stage a concert for the students featuring Cellcard Brand Ambassadors Suzana and Tey.
