Country’s largest IT-based social event continues free tech and innovation camps
Ratanakiri, April XX: After the success of this year’s first Barcamp in Siem Reap, Barcamp Cambodia and staunch supporter Cellcard are proud to present the second edition of the annual event, this time right here in Ratanakiri.
Held at the ASEAN Bridge International School from April 30 to May 1, Barcamp Ratanakiri aims to promote education, tourism, technology and entrepreneurship, with an emphasis on Information technology. The event will once again play host to IT professionals, business leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs, educators and students in sessions that encourage an exchange of knowledge, skills and experiences.
Barcamp Ratanakiri is open to all and features 20 speakers plus other activities including promotions, exhibitions and discussions. Past Barcamp speakers have included professionals from companies comprising EZECOM, Google Developer Group, IT STEP Academy, Fedora, Firefox, Development Innovations, ITC and Web Essentials, so participants can expect to immerse themselves in all things IT and receive priceless information.
“With technology and innovation gaining traction and becoming more relevant to advancing the country, the Barcamp series is proving to be instrumental in inculcating and inspiring more and more youth to become more IT-proficient,” said Cellcard CEO Ian Watson. “We have always firmly supported events that give tech professionals a platform to share, collaborate and exchange opinions with those interested in advancing themselves, and Barcamp Ratanakiri and the rest of the series will continue to offer such opportunities and more to hopefully turn Cambodia into a regional hub for innovation and progress.”
Barcamp Cambodia has organized the series for the past four years and in the process achieved its dedicated goal of bringing together individuals to network, create synergies and share the latest technology. All five of 2015’s Barcamp events were well-attended and well-received.
Participation at Barcamp Ratanakiri, which kicks-off Saturday at 8am, is free to all. To sign up or for more information, email info@barcampcambodia.org or visit www.2015.barcampcambodia.org.
